What you'll get for supporting us
We’re sure you realise that we're very constrained by the rules around charitable giving (in particular Gift Aid), but giving you the chance to get as close as possible to 19B is really important to us.
So we're really happy to be able to offer our supporters the following at a minimum:
1. Regular newsletters: it is really important to keep you informed on what’s happening with 19B; we will send you an electronic monthly newsletter detailing progress and upcoming events, and an annual newsletter by post.
2. You will be invited to annual gatherings with the loco, where you can get close to her, talk with us about our plans and your own ideas, etc. These will be held at Statfold or whichever line we’re visiting that year. We will aim to arrange exclusive opportunities for our supporters during these events, too. Costs will always be kept as low as reasonably possible, but a modest charge may be necessary to defray any costs.
3. An opportunity for a footplate ride on 19B.
Please appreciate that this is not always easy to do, and cannot be guaranteed. In particular:
a) It’s only achievable when it is safe to do so, including:

when the tender is fitted
-
the passenger being fit enough
-
the passenger being suitably-attired
b) Demand is expected to be high, especially when visiting other railways, so these would be offered on a “first-come-first-served” basis
c) The agreement of the loco crew on the day is essential
d) Bookings will be in advance where possible

For those supporters pledging donations or loans of £500 or more (either as a one-off or a covenant over time), for the next two years Statfold have offered free entry to the 3 railway gala events (in March, June and September) and the miniature traction engine event. They will also give you a 20% discount off admission to non-railway events. (Offer expires June 2025.)
